Bande dessinée d’aujourd’hui pour auteurs d’hier, quand la BD devient un outil de construction du patrimoine littéraire

This article focuses on the analysis of a project based on the enhancement of the literary heritage using the Ninth Art authors’ work, which was ordered by the cultural agency ALCA (Agence Livre, Cinéma et Audiovisuel) in the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region. This project keeps working on enhancing strategies of the written heritage, which were developed by local libraries, by ALCA, DRAC (Nouvelle Aquitaine Management of cultural matters) and BNF (France National Library), and also aims at reflecting on discourses and narratives about the written heritage and more specifically about the literary one. Indeed, in a communication approach (Davallon, 2006), we can consider that heritage publicizing implies the transmission of an interpretative scheme (age, fragility, representativeness, etc) which allows everyone to acknowledge this specific object as part of a legacy. Consequently, we should question the representations conveyed by these comic strips; in other words, we should monitor the alterations of this “cultural being” (Jeanneret, 2014) that is to say : the literary heritage. In fine, we will ask ourselves to what extent this action can have an impact on the patrimonialising process of literature in a specific territory.

Cet article se concentre sur l’analyse d’un projet de valorisation du patrimoine littéraire faisant appel à des auteur.e.s du 9e art et mis en place par l’agence culturelle ALCA (Agence Livre, Cinéma et Audiovisuel en Nouvelle-Aquitaine). Si ce projet s’inscrit dans la continuité des stratégies de valorisation du patrimoine écrit développées, avec les bibliothèques du territoire, par ALCA, la Drac Nouvelle-Aquitaine et la Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF), il s’agit de s’interroger sur les discours et récits qui sont proposés autour du patrimoine écrit et plus exactement autour du patrimoine littéraire. Si l’on considère en effet, dans une approche communicationnelle (Davallon, 2006), que la publicisation du patrimoine suppose la transmission d’un schème interprétatif (l’ancienneté, la fragilité, la représentativité, etc.) qui permet à chacun de reconnaître cet objet particulier comme relevant du patrimoine, alors il convient de s’interroger sur les représentations véhiculées par ces bandes dessinées, autrement dit de suivre les altérations de cet "être culturel" (Jeanneret, 2014) que représente le patrimoine littéraire. In fine, on réfléchira à la manière dont cette action peut agir dans le processus de patrimonialisation du littéraire à l’échelle d’un territoire particulier.
